George is a partner in the Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) group in London. He specialises in all types of general commercial contracts, with a particular focus on crypto assets, outsourcing, IT, infrastructure sharing and telecommunications.
Recent work includes:
◼ advising BlockEx on a broad range of commercial and crypto-related matters, including providing support on its ICO, listing of assets on its exchange, disputes relating to crypto assets, its support into the ICO industry in the UK and other related matters
◼ advising CryptoUK on its position with respect to UK government regulation of the crypto industry, including writing papers on crypto regulation, and meeting with senior government figures (including MPs) to discuss the future of crypto in the UK
◼ advising on eight unregulated “utility token” ICOs (in the UK and elsewhere) in respect of regulatory status and marketing activities
◼ advising on four “security token” ICOs (in the UK and elsewhere) in respect of adherence to existing securities and marketing regulations
◼ advising major international retail and investment bank on its policies for onboarding of crypto clients, including establishing a taxonomy for crypto assets and advising on KYC requirements
◼ advising a number of UK-based exchanges on their dealings with payment services providers and related regulatory issues
◼ advising a US-based digital assets custodian and wallet provider on data protection compliance
